The Continental Ultra Gatorskin is great value for money and sets the bar for a perfectly-balanced combination of ride quality and long-term durability. This unique tyre features a third Polyamide layer in the sidewall to create a unique 3-ply casing.
Continental have also added a wider Poly-X anti-puncture breaker belt under the tread that extends into the shoulder area for increased coverage. Duraskin ant-tear mesh on the outside of the casing results in a durable and fast commuter tyre. - A.D.

Have been riding the same set of Gatorskin Hardshells for 2 years. I've put lots of miles on them and they are hard miles as I am a Clydesdale - 245lbs., so the rear tire gets a workout. Also the roads here are full of debris, particularly after the snow melts (Canada). I run 25mms and inflate at slightly less tire pressure compared to the 23mms I used to use. So, it seems they are softer. I run the back at 115psi and the front about 95lbs. I could probably go lower but why tempt a pinch flat? Highly recommended, especially if you, like me hate flats. Hope this helps,
Great tires. I swear by them. They are expensive but worth every penny. Imagine never getting a flat again. I know , I haven't gotten a puncture since I switched to Gatorskins 3 years ago. I'm not a racer but I am an avid cyclist. I' m out on club rides twice a week from April to November.
The most reliable and long-lasting tyre ever used at that time
The Perfect training tyre. Great for all riding surfaces. Long lasting....it keeps going and going!
These tires are simply amazing. I've had the same set on for a year and a bit now and not even a scratch. No cuts, no punctures and no flats. I've ridden these tires on glass covered roads and never had a problem. These would make great commuting tires, or even training tires. They are great for anyone really who rides on poor quality roads and wants the extra puncture protection. The one drawback of the tires is the ride quality. If you over inflate them you will have a hard and harsh ride. Also since the rubber is a bit on the harder side, you will have to be more careful in wet weather. As long as you don't speed like a bat out of hell and take turns like you were racing you'll be fine. Overall amazing tire and highly recommended them for anyone fed up with flat tires.
