Schwalbe has developed a tyre specifically for the sport of triathlon. Ambitious triathletes today use special time trial bikes and aerodynamically optimised wheels. The new Schwalbe Ironman is optimised for this set-up. The name Ironman is a trademark of World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) and is used under license by Schwalbe.
Schwalbe Ironman features a V-Guard cut-resistant high-tech fibre that makes it possible to ensure an extraordinarily high level of puncture resistance. In combination with SnakeSkin sidewall protection, Schwalbe call it Double Defense Technology.
The Ironman features 3Star triple compound which is perfectly adapted to the specific purpose of road use. As a result Schwalbe has achieved a great improvement in the familiar trade-off between rolling resistance, wet grip and durability. The One Star Triple Compound is not only faster; it also delivers the usual good grip and is more cut resistant than previous compounds. This makes the tyre significantly more puncture resistant.
