This is my 4th year on these mudguards, only issue was loosing the small grub srews, but used cable ties instead.. These are worth every cent. Light enough to ride with all year round, I just remove some sections, and when winter comes, especially in Vancouver, they work like a charm.. I highly recommend these as part of your biking kit. I would really like to try the MK3, but as there is plenty of life in these, I'm gonna wait.. So as far a reliability, weight, and functionality, nothing comes close.. I've recommended these to so many people, and they love em...
The Crud mudguards are really good for keeping the wet and dirt off me. I originally orded them as a stop gap measure but have found that they are as good in many respects as a normal mudguard. I will probably order for my other vintage road bike.
Didn't even last a whole season - and that's mostly just commuting. Rear "tail" broke 2 times, glued back but finally lost the part on a ride. They must make most of their money with spare parts :P
I ordered these for my Giant Rapid 2 because no other fenders would fit with the very limited brake clearance. These installed easily enough, though the black plastic nuts were so small for my beefy fingers they kept slipping out of my hands and bouncing around on the dark hardwood floor it was frustrating. But installed, they worked fine. They are lightweight (interpret: flimsy), but you don't need a lot to deflect the water. This bike isn't meant to be used in heavy duty service and thus do not require heavy duty fenders. If you have a road bike and want to continue to ride when wet then these are great. I commute sometimes with this bike and a little afternoon shower isn't a big deal.
Well, they are pretty thin and won't last long under anything but the lightest weather. Which arguably is their intended use. My plastic cracked after 2 months, the felt pieces de-laminated with the rain, and generally only provided about 60% coverage of important areas. Never the less, it never claims to be robust and its not terribly expensive, so verdict: generally favourable.
I bought these mudguards for my 'summer' bike for quick on and off usage throughout the year. As of to-date I've made three rides using them and have found them to be more than adequate. They were a little fiddly to fit and I was sceptical about the little brushes that act as spacers keeping the mudguards away from the wheels but they are surprisingly effective. Based on my experience so far they would seem to be an excellent buy.
Had them installed 3 weeks ago. They kept well in place and are doing the job. A bit tricky to get them right (and away from the speedo magnet) but once it was cleared, it stayed so. Looking for the youtube video to install them is easing the whole process a lot.
This is one good product. It's nice and light but could b a little tricky to install so check on line for instruction. ce I guess it's a typical Pbk quality stuff. The only thing is that it took a while for me to receive it. - almost a month.
It looks great and relatively light. But i felt it's not for me during installation, because i need a mud guard that is very easy to install and dismantle whenever i need rather than perfect guarding. Unfortunately It took a long time to install and dismantle for me. Vice verse either. If i have one more bike that is only for transportation from office to home, then it's going to be good because it can be fixed on bike without changing.

Excellent product. Light in weight. Fits just perfect on a road bike. Keeps the vast majority of road crap off the bike and chain. Best guards I have seen for a road bike.
I am very pleased with my new fenders. They are relatively easy to install and are hardly noticeable when riding. They hard rain and wet roads very well. I recommend them for those riders who wish to prolong their riding season on the wet roads of autumn.
I put these on an old Benotto steel frame for commuting. Everything fit, no problems. Was rubbing a bit on the top of the rear tyre but after a ride everything settled down and no rubbing now.
Worth investing a little time when initially installing these guards in order to achieve a rattle and rub free fit. I needed to shorten the rear guard with a hacksaw to get the proper fit. Performance on the road seems excellent - me and the bike clean & dry. Result.
Paris Brest Paris 2011: 200, 300, 400, 600, 1200km those mudgards were still alright tonight during a wet North east Victoria training ride.
Those little brushes, clever design and still the originals.
Look, there is no use getting a wet bottom. These are really the only option for road bikes with low clearance.
They are built OK and will last 1 season. The ends can snap off, but will still keep you a bit dry.
Worth it for the wet seasons.
