amazing breaking
5I have these pads which i use for my carbon zipp race wheels, and then for training, i switch back to my training wheels and put on the regular pads the difference in braking performance is very noticeable, as the swiss stop have super breaking performance. i know you can run these with aluminum breaking surface as well, but they seem pretty expensive, so i didn't want to wear them out.
Report this reviewGood with Reynolds pads on the flats, not the hills
3I got the 2009 Reynolds Assault and with these pads. They're great on the flat ok on the hills. They do squeel on the hills or hard braking. The Swissstop Yellow pads, which suppose to be the bees knees, with underwhelming results around the hills. I rode once around the hills once and as the descent got steeper (25%) the brake started to squeal and lose braking power. I had to stop to let the brake pads and brake track cool down before the twisty section as I'm not confident that I can brake enough to negotiate the corner. It performed ok after the they cooled down. Honestly, I won't be taking these wheels and pads for mountain races. May use Reynolds own new blue pads to see whether I've better results
Report this reviewExcellent product, but there's a better choice for Zipp carbon rims

Ran these against my Zipp carbon rims and loved them, until I tried Zipp Tangentes, which are a cork composite. 'Til then, I would've rated Yellow kings 5 star.
The Yellow Kings, I realized, left uneven melt residue on the rims (apparently not as bad as many pads, but far worse than the cork Zipps) that looked nasty and, far more importantly, caused pulsing and degraded performance.
Don't know how much of the Zipp pads' advantage would transfer if used with non-Zipp rims, and the Zipps are even more expensive than Yellow Kings. But braking is no place to pinch pennies.
awesome
4no more melted pads :) and they work very well in the rain. I wish they came in a different colour. But other than that, these are fantastic brake pads.
Report this reviewSimply the best pads made
5Love these, cannot speak highly enough of them. Best braking on alum or carbon I have found and all in one pad! Works in wet and dry, durable and all you need to do before going from alum to carbon is a quick clean and file down (to get alum out if it is embedded)
Report this reviewBest avaliable
4The best available brake pads for carbon rims. Makes you decent just fine no melted brakes or broken rims. They are also very reliable in wet condition.
