Have only been a a couple of rides and the left pedal developed a very annoying squeak.
Met almost all expectations
Bought the pedals primarily for road use, but learned how to use them on my mountainbike. They took plenty of rock strikes and me forgetting to unclip and following over well, bearing only aesthetic damage. They still look great too. I wear Bontrager Rally shoes, and found that adding the shims made a great difference. The connection felt more natural and firm, communicating the earth better for me. The spring tension range is great for me. They're not close to their maximum loose setting and I'm happy with the setting I've found. Finally, I expect their life to be phenomenal. I've had a pair of DMR Vault's for several years now, and one service + new bearing kit has them running like new. Very easy to do yourself. Great brand. Go buy it.
Perfect if switching from flats
After riding flats forever, I found descending through rough downhill tracks or technical climbs I could loose my feet off the pedals or might not have my foot in the right position all the time. People have always said 'go clipless', so I borrowed a set of Shimano SPD's; I liked the clipped in security but not the lack of physical pedal platform, which made me feel a bit 'disconnected' from the bike. These pedals are the perfect mix for me, I have the pedals set up so I can move my weight around on the platform but I'm securely clipped in so there's no chance of slipping off. After riding on DMR Vault pedals for as long as I can remember I hope these will be just as hard wearing and trouble free. Also they look great in real life!
