Basic pair of pedals, for my "family " road bike so I can use the same shoes that my 1st bike. Good price!
Work great, easy to get in/out off. Love these road pedals, can't stay off my bike now. :))
Typical Shimano quality. Outstanding performance at such an affordable price. Would give 5 stars except the bottom of the pedal underneath the cleat is made of plastic (instead of medal, like in higher-end models). This makes that piece slightly less durable and could need replacing after several thousand K. But at this price, a small piece replacement is no big deal.
The Shimano R540 SPD-SL Pedals is a great price.
I have more than 20 000 km on a pair I bought 5 years ago on probikekit. I did not serviced them. I am more than satisfied with these. (Meanwhile, on my other bike, I changed 2 sets of more expensive look pedals.
My first pedal so not sure what to compare it to. At the beginning they were wonderful and I use them on a 30KM daily commute. I do notice shoe is a bit loose (can move left right) while engaged which I don't like. Also noticed some clicking noise with the left pedal. Both issues I am trying to resolve by tightening the pedal. Because of all this I would like to know how more expensive Shimano or other styles of pedals behave/perform.
A great pedal that is affordable and is an excellent competitor to more expensive ones
Hmmm just on the borderline for Shimano's usual quality. They can develop a bit of slop early on and hard to tighten up or get the bushings/bearings to come good again (i.e. repack). Good beginner pedal
