The MXP is Clement's newest cyclocross tyre featuring an intermediate tread pattern to create an excellent all-conditions tyre. The MXP is named after the airport code for Milan, Italy, a World Cup venue that calls for an all-conditions tyre. The name is also a homage to Clement’s Italian pedigree.
The tread is an updated version of the classic Grifo profile first developed by Clement decades ago. Some of the changes include cuts in the central chevrons to allow the tread to flex and more aggressive side knobs with a shape inspired by a soccer cleat. The MXP is designed for a wide variety of conditions and variable surfaces. It excels on grass, loose dirt, sand, moderate mud, hard pack, snow and pavement. If you could only have one cyclocross tyre, this is the one to have.

I am knew to the sport of cyclocross and recently bought these tires to replace my worn out ones. WOW these made such a difference in helping me stay up right going around slippery, muddy corners and helped me in getting through the deepest muddy patches. Although I did rely on them a little too much as I took a fall in the last lap of my race while some guys were closing in on me. I guess I just felt like I was floating on air and then I eat some mud. Awesome tires though.

I received these tires and promptly put them on and tried them out on my regular Cross training rides. Positives the tread pattern is similar to the Tufo and Challege Grifo which is a great all-round pattern good for wet grass, hard pack trails and light mud. The wide lugs shed mud okay but not as good as others. Very grippy on grass so they are perfect for most off camber turns on our local cross circuit. Cons: the low TPI count of 85 makes for a stiffer sidewall than my 280 TPI Challenge Fango's so the ride is stiffer and low pressures are not as possible so challenging single track is not where these are suited. Overall happy especially at this price point good for all but challenging terrain
