Great tire

5

I have been running these tires for about 3 years on both my Trek Madone road bikes one in Canada and the other one in Thailand. I ride 20,000 Km+ per year roughly 10,000 Km in Canada and 10,000 in Thailand. I have had only 3 flats in the last 20,000 Km and the last set I had on my bike in Thailand had 9000 Km on them before I replaced them as threads were pulling out on the sidewalls. These tires handle all road conditions well from wet roads to high speed cornering. They are also easy to mount on the wheels.

Grippy

These Continental Grand Prix 4000 Clincher Road tires are the best I've had. They offer superb handling and very nice styling. Mine are yellow so it's a perfect combo with the black trek bike plus stealth zipp wheels! It looks amazing!

Great tires! Extremely hard to put on the wheel!

I love these tires! I got the red ones and they made my bike and set up look great. They did however get black immediately but you can still see the red. Performance wise, they are great as well. It is such a smooth ride with great grip. The only thing that I didn't like was that it was really hard to get them on. It bend all of my tire levers so I had to use some metal which scratched my wheel a little. The trick was to throw the tyres into the dryer. I'm telling you, that made it way easier since it warmed them and made it easier to stretch. After the first couple of runs it made it easier to push in and out.

Excellent tyres

I have been using the GP series since 2003. Never bothered trying anything else after I found they are exceedingly durable and I have probably had 4 punctures in 10 years going through 4 pairs. I ride between 200km-500km per week. I believe the silicon compound is longer lasting than the black chilli version (from what I have read). Continental claim the black chilli (black colour version) version offers less rolling resistance: I don't doubt their testing but I dont believe the difference is significant enough to warrant changing a tyre I have grown in confidence with over the years. First the coloured GP3000 series and currently the coloured 4000. They simply do what tyres should do: be as puncture resistant as possible, roll smooth and stick to the road with confident handling, have good durability and be able to be pumped up to 120psi. I have always liked the Conti-orange colour: its a nice treat to be able to choose colours too! I am a light rider but have heard much heavier roadies having similar praises to say about these tyres. Buy with confidence!

Easy to peddle, glides over pavement, fairly easy to mount. On usually difficult campy rims.

GP4000 - Awesome Rubber

5

These tyres are performing significantly better, than anything else I have riden on. The durability and wear of them has impressed me. I think I will be hard pressed to find a better, comparative tyre.

Best tires I have ever used

5

The Continental Grand Prix are the best tires ( yes, I'm a Yank) I have ever used. They wear like iron, are very flat resistant, and perform well in all sorts of conditions. I ride over 4000 miles per season and they are the only tires I will ever use.

Great switch.

I use to have some Michelin pro race tyres on my road bikes. But I remembered how reliable these Continental Grand Prix 4000 Clincher Road Tyre were. As I use to be a cycle courier and spent a whole year with these tyres before they wore out. So decided on putting these tyres on all my road bikes, but I do like them skinny and opted for 20mm, instead of the usual 23mm. Basically I can't fault them at all.
