Conti's GP4000S II does it again
5I have long lost count of how many Conti's GP4000S tyres I have been through over many years. They do continue to deliver to meet my endurance-type riding (over 16,500km in 2015, so 2-3 pairs of tyres) so naturally am sensitivity to the performance I get, including traction, mileage, punctures, etc. Highly recommended.

5Have been using these tyres both for training & racing for a few years now and find them extremely durable. Whilst you can't avoid cuts & nicks in the tyres, the anti puncture breaker works a treat and is yet to let me down. Highly recommended.
Report this reviewGreat Tyre, Great Price
5There's a reason why just about every serious road bike you see parked up at your local good coffee spot is wearing GP4000s. When PBK has them at ~50% off their normal (never mind what you might pay at a bricks-and-mortar store) you would be insane to consider something lesser.

5Excellent tire! Good ride and long wearing at a reasonable price.
Report this reviewNot good enough
1The order took some 6 weeks to arrive. Not good enough for me when I was told after ordering it was out of stock. Communication with PBK unsatisfactory

5This tyre was purchased to replace a worn out front tyre and get a matched set of Continental GP4000S2 on my bike. The rear tyre is a 28mm GP4000S2 so I decided a 23mm tyre would be fine for my requirements on the front. From previous experience I find the puncture resistance very good and the wear rates are excellent even when used for high load work such as time trials or even turbo trainer. These tyres tend to be in short supply during the summer months so during the winter was a good time to purchase along with the excellent deals PBK offer. The tyre does make my bike roll with a lot less effort and will continue the roll for some distance without power. Now you might think a tyre which rolls well has reduced grip but even during this spell of bad weather where the roads are wet and muddy the tyre has plenty of grip even at higher speeds. Just to prove a point I use a newton+ power meter and looking at the data , you can see a reduction in Rolling Resistance. So in my view these tyres are well worth the money, not only for life span, performance, grip, reduced rolling resistance, and puncture resistance. This tyre is a clincher, and I would buy again, even if they cost more.....you get what you pay for...

5Quite simply the only tyre for your road bike. Smooth rolling, sticky and outstanding puncture protection at such low weight. 5 stars all the way
Report this reviewBest Wearing Tires
5I've been using various flavors of the GP for about 25 years now, and these are the best yet. Great grip, very high durability, and excellent mileage. There is simply not a better clincher tire available.

4Not a fair review at this time. I purchased these to replace the existing tires on my bike which have about 5800 miles on them. They are showing some extreme wear, but I plan to ride them until I can't anymore. I'm stubborn and cheap! That being said, I can't find this kind of price in the states. Have to wait a little on shipping, but it works well so far. This will be my second set of Conti, and I'm looking forward to putting them on. Hopefully in the spring! Existing set still ride good for the condition they are in.
