Continental GP 5000
1My wife blew out a front sidewall on her GP 4000's so I replaced both tires with GP 5000's, 1530 km later another blown front sidewall. Have been buying Continentals for years, may be rethinking that.

5Excellent tyres. I see a bit of griping about how to fit them. When fitting them as new: unwrap the tyre and soak it in near boiling water for 20 mins then stretch the tyre by standing on one edge and pulling up. Still tight to fit but not stupidly so - as they are when new and cold. After a couple of 100 miles they stretch a little and become easier to change. Just try not to puncture for 200 miles...😄

4Recently installed. No issues installing them. First 200km no issues. The tires ride very smooth and very fast. I would give them a 5 star but I haven’t put enough kilometres on them yet!

4Not as difficult to fit (Mavic rims) as some people made out. Only 2 x rides so far but more comfortable than the Schwalbe Luganos they replaced

1There's nothing quite like being stood by the roadside mending a puncture in freezing wind and rain to make you question your life choices. One of which should have been never to have bought these tyres. If you have fond memories of carefree riding on GP4000s then save that thought. Remember those happy days and don't invite GP5000s into your life. The compound of these tyres is very soft. They cut up very easily and I've seen more puncture resistance from the skin of a rice pudding.

4This tire seems to be the biggest bang for my buck. The only reason I won’t give 5 stars is that the bead is tight and difficult to get over the rim. A bead Jack is the way to go, and I carry one with me on my rides. I Velcro strap it to my aero bar, as it’s too long to fit in my bag. If I get a flat in cold weather, trying to get that bead over the rim with cold hands is a very difficult task.

4Love these tires but there is a trick to installing them that I have learned over the years..when removing them from the rim start at the valve stem.. when adding them to your rim start opposite the valve and finish at stem. Makes it much easier to install and remove because they can be tight.

5Thanks PBK for the ultra fast S&H to Massachusetts USA CONTI 5000 clincher tires I have properly installed these tires in two different wheelsets without any problems, punctured tubes nor broken tools. Roval CLX 32 and Campagnolo Bora One 35 wheels These tires roll well and after over a thousand miles on them they still look like new and without any blemishes. Will buy them again.
