Smooth Sailing, Cool Runnings!!!

This is my first set of Schwalbe tires. The endeavor was prompted by pure vanity as I love the look of tires with the red stripe on my rig. My usual tires were not available with the red stripe and my new wheelset deserves to look just as good as my last... On the looks, they are exactly what I hoped for. Although the stripe is a touch thinner than the last set of tires, they still complete the look. Definitely 5 stars from a purely aesthetic perspective. I got these in 25c due to the demands of the new wheelset. They went onto the rim as easy as I would expect. (Haven't had a flat yet so I cannot speak to a road size tire change at this time.) I don't have calipers to measure the actual width of the tire on the rim, but there were no issues with clearance. I've been rolling on 23c for a good stretch now. They ride smooth as butter!!! All the new bits combined for a wonderfully peaceful and unfettered ride. Almost eerily quiet to be quite honest, so definitely a 5 star ride feel. I ride some fairly unloved roads here in the city of Baltimore, MD before I can escape to the smoother, and quieter, roads of surrounding areas. (Still no flats yet.) 5 stars for puncture resistance. One unexpected bit about these tires is the evidence of extrusion right down the center of the tire. I chalk it up to the manufacturing process, but this is the first time I've ever seen such a thing. If these tires are truly as durable as marketed, I regret that bit will be there for quite some time. The extrusion is consistent on both tires in quantity, placement and mild annoyance. My overall review of 4 stars is due to this oddity. (There are those moments when I'm rolling along and look down at the wheel and it just niggles me a bit.) I am sure over time, this will wear away, but I thought it worth a mention. I would definitely recommend these tires to a friend that may be looking to switch brands. If this minor bit wouldn't bother you, than I suggest giving them a go. Safe riding!!!
