great wheels

5

I purchased the Zonda Two Way to replace my Shimano RS-010 wheelset. I considered Shimano RS 81 C24 and some lower cost carbon wheels but felt that the Zonda at about 1580 grams was about the same weight but lower cost. Lots of bad roads and lots of steep hills where I live so the thought was to stay with aluminum for weight, durability, and improved braking purposes. The wheels appear to be well made and are setup for either tube or tubeless tires. It was a bit more challenging to mount the tires than my Shimanos and you can hear some "pops" as the inflated tire sets the bead. The ride is a bit nicer than on the Shimanos and they are 300 grams lighter hence easier on climbs - in fact I can usually be one gear higher. In general it seems like I am not working as hard on flats or climbs. The spin up noticeably faster. I picked up about 0.5 mph (mostly due to improved climb speed) on my average speed but I had a strong wind so I might see a larger speed increase in future rides. I plan to run out my Continental Grand Prix tires and then try tubeless tires. The Campagnolo Zonda seems to be a great budget wheel upgrade. To gain any appreciable difference, you will need to spend many times more.

Good Value

I purchased Zondas as an entry level upgrade for my old Wilier Triestina and could not be more impressed. The weight and smoothness of this wheelset coupled with the price should make Zondas a good option for anyone looking to upgrade an entry level road bike.

Great wheels

Have been riding these wheels for 2+ months now. Really like them a lot. Great quality, relatively light, and very stiff. Would give it 5 stars (and would give 4.5 if possible) but have had only 1 problem with them. I"m using Shimano 10 speed cassette with the supplied Shimano freehub. The freehub can accommodate 11 speed and to convert to 10 speed, Campy includes a spacer ring. For whatever reason, the spacer was not thick enough and the lockring was unable to properly secure the cogs, which came loose after 1 ride. [In addition, the splines on the freehub are very short so they don't engage much of the cog anyway]. I had to add a second spacer and re-adjust my rear derailleur to get the cogs to stay in position. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but it's the only drawback to an otherwise great set of wheels.

Campy Zonda

After researching new wheel sets, I was thoroughly confused about what I wanted to buy. I decided upon the wheels that were considered the "biggest bang for my buck," the Campy Zonda. The Zondas are definitely lighter than my OEM Fulcrum Racing S-5 wheels, and my local mechanic feels the Zonda spoke pattern will be much easier to keep true. The free wheel is remarkably quiet, and while my new wheels do not have the same rolling sound of a deep dish wheel set, they do make a distinctive sound as I ride. As for ProBikeKit.com, this was a smooth transaction except it took about a week for the wheels to pulled from a shelf before "dispatch." Keep that in mind if you live in the US and are in a hurry to receive your new toys. Luckily I was not in a hurry, but I was surprised that they waited so long to prepare my order. The price was right, so I was patient.

Great Wheels

I researched wheels as I was in the market for a new pair. After reading the reviews I settled on these wheels. I am not disappointed, I really like these wheels. The workmanship is excellent and I really think they improve my riding compared to the old wheels I was using.

Campy Zondas Wheels

The wheels were packaged nicely! Nothing was missing. Took the local shop about an hour to put my wheels (w/ cassette) together. Rode them the very next day. They are nice and stiff. I enjoyed my ride! Very glad with my purchase.

fast wheel

Got it about 1.5 weeks ago. Rode about 100 mi already. The measured weight is considerably less than my previous wheels - about 600g less. However, I am not sure I can say that I noticed a huge difference. One big difference I can tell for sure is that the wheels are fast going downhills. I have to keep braking so that I won't overtake the guys in front of me. One thing to note is that the Shimano version is about 1600g total weight. 1550gm is for the Campagnolo version.

Nice Wheels

I compared with my Bontrager RXL and the Zonda have much better feeling and less resistance. I'm 250lbs and so far I rode only 60 miles on these wheels. So I will keep informed a soon I hit 1k and 2k miles. Wheels looks well made and finished very clean. I'm happy with my purchase. Hope they can survive 5k miles as the previous wheels.

So far so good.

Just tried my new Zondas on a 22-mile ride so not a whole lot to describe except they do roll very, very smooth. My stock wheels are Vision T42, which are really nice wheels (probably more expensive than the Zondas); even so I noticed a difference. So far I like these very much. They were excellent in the climbing department as well, so at this point I do not have any negative comments about the Zondas, but time will tell.
