Reynolds Assurance Program (RAP)

The Reynolds Assurance Program (RAP) is the most aggressive wheel warranty policy of its kind. It offers absolute, no questions asked coverage, in the event of damage to your wheels. This allows you to drive a little harder into that corner or descend a little faster on single track with the knowledge that your wheels are covered by the best protection plan available. The RAP program is the first to cover both road and mountain carbon wheels direct from the manufacturer. Customers who purchase a Reynolds wheelset from an authorized dealer have the option to invest in RAP, a two year damage protection plan for any wheelset being used in its intended fashion. ATTACK!

No question regarding ride quality from aluminum to carbon wheelset. Attack is light has a very smooth bearings. Breaking is very good (dry condition) and don't see a difference a big difference VS aluminum. Have not experience breaking noise reading from reviews online. So far logged in about 500miles and no complain. Out of the box, a little out of true. Decals has to go for a more stealthy look.

Waste of money

These wheels would be okay it they worked. Spokes started breaking straight away, no option but a complete rebuild. After the rebuild and a month of use, front rim sidewall failed under downhill breaking strain, very distessing experience, however wheel did not collapse. When a similar thing happened with the rear it was obvious that this was not a one off. These wheels are junk, you have been fairly warned.

Great wheels but go tubular

I have the last year's model and to be honest, I didn't notice any improvement over my cheap aluminium clincher wheels. However, I did notice a much worse stopping power.

On the plus side, the wheels are very durable. I weight near 180lb and ride through potholes, roads fitting CX and XC bikes and the wheels are still true.

My advice is, if you want to notice any improvement over whatever aluminium clinchers you have, go tubular.

These slice through the air

The Attacks go like a set of wheels that cost twice as much,They're quick from the start, handle wonderfully and the open-honeycomb-like CTg brake track coating is outstandingly good in all weather conditions. The only drawback is that they're a little twitchy when its windy.

Light and Fast

I chose these to go on my Orca that I bought last year. The upgrade from base aluminium wheels was about $1000. I thought I would also end up buying cheaper wheels to save these for racing, but they have been absolutely reliable. No issues whatsoever.
Often I've been with other riders on our rough local roads and they would break a spoke on their "bombproof" Ksyriums - I just have no problems.

They have the same profile as the Gipiemme's I had on my older road bike, so I noticed no cross wind effect different from what I'm used to. I specifically chose them for that reason, and that they were lighter than the Assaults that one of my friends uses. Note that he had already recommended the wheels, and he runs the bike shop.

I've never had any problem mounting tires, and I've used Vittorias, Contis and Specialized on them.

The biggest thing I noticed was that they spin up fast and are very light for climbing. Maybe not the best for TT use, but excellent for racing and training.

Aluminium price - carbon performance

The Attack’s are my first foray into a full carbon wheel and I am extremely pleased with the results.

First and most importantly, the value of the Reynolds can not be beat. A full carbon clincher, from a reputable manufacturer, not a no name Taiwan job, for around $1K is impressive.

While the Attacks, being the entry point into carbon Reynolds line-up comes with generic in house hubs/bearings, the performance to date (over a year) has been solid. I have another set of wheels with DT Swiss internals that roll a bit smoother, but the difference on the road is negligible to non existent.

The breaking performance of the full carbon wheel is mixed – but overall quite good. As you would expect, inclement weather reduces the breaking performance quite substantially. It is not hazardous to ride these wheels in the rain, but they don’t stop with as much confidence as a set of aluminum wheels. It is simply something you need to be conscious of and plan accordingly when approaching a breaking point.

The wheels also have a tendency to squeal when not properly dialed in – you really need to get a bit old school and make sure you get a bit of toe in adjusted for these wheels – and obviously use carbon specific brake pads!

The wheels are fairly light, coming in less than 1500 grams and are utterly bomb proof. These have been my regular training wheels and have experienced some good knocks along the way and have never had any damage – impressive.

I can’t say that I notice any aero benefit from the wheels – but they do look the business and the carbon provides a nice compliant ride.

Bottom line – for the price of a top spec aluminum clincher – you get a great set of carbon wheels.
