A Fullproof Overshoe
I was curious as to wether or not these Santini overshoes would provide sufficient protection from the freezing cold brought about by a mid western winter. Needless to say I was mightily impressed. As my first Santini product purchase, I have to say I was impressed with the construction. The overshoe looks and feels premium, and was easy enough to put on and remove. The Kevlar padding on the bottom of the overshoe gave me extra confidence when walking, and the reflective material on the back of the shoe gives great visibility, all while providing that ‘pro’ look we all want! The zipper was a tad finicky upon first use, however the taped seam makes the zipper airtight, keeping in the warmth and abating the winter cold. The neoprene construction is perfect whilst on the road; I was able to ride a good while before feeling any discomfort and the Kevlar toe stopped my toes from freezing over. For those looking to completely eliminate the cold in sub 40 degree temperatures, I would not rely solely on this overshoe for protection. Pair this with a good pair of thermal socks, and even consider wrapping some foil around your toes in order to keep in the warmth. Overall, I am very happy with this product, and would continue to use Santini products in the future.
