Second Pair

Just received my second pair of Bont Riot Road shoes with ratcheting buckle and can say this shoe works great for me. Even though these are heat mouldable, my oven does not go low enough so have never done it. But I've never felt the need to because these are so comfortable right out of the box. They are snug at the heel, with plenty of room in the toe box, and the ratchet works just fine to tighten securely around the foot. Additionally, these have a very stiff outsole providing great power transfer. I believe that there is no other brand that offers anything close to the same stiffness in this price range. For reference, I take a 45 in Shimano, and 45 in Bont works as well. In my opinion, these shoes have it all....great comfort, build quality, stiff outsole all at a great price.

Bont riot road size 42

Very pleased with quick delivery etc. I usually use Specialized shoes size 41 (UK7.5 US8) but saw these on sale so decided to give them a go. Overall very pleased roomy in the forefoot and a tight heel. A bit of a different fit to other shoes I've had. My tips as per the Bont site measure your foot, my foot came out as 42 on their chart and it is a good, snug 42. So measure as per their instructions. A big plus is ability to heat mold the shoe to your foot. Straight out of the box the heel was tight but after 20 mins in a standard oven put the shoe on a whole different, custom fit. And it is not just a single time only you can do it again and again. Very good for a budget priced shoe. As to quality of finish and stitching very good so far.

Bont Riot Road shoes

Used the Bont sizing chart to order these from PBK. Sizing was spot on. The initial fit was quite snug without being tight. After a few wears, it became even more comfortable. I would suggest users to use the Bont sizing chart and if need be to have someone help with the measurement of your feet to get the correct size. These do run a bit smaller but the chart should be able to guide to the correct size. The sizing of these shoes are perfect for standard widefeet. Also PBK got these shipped to quickly.

Bont Riot Shoes

I bought these as aa cheap pair of shoes to use on the turbo which they are probably ok for. They are a wide shoe so good for comfort in that respect but maybe a little short length wise. In terms of quality its pretty average. The uppers are slightly flimsy and the pair I have dont look well sealed to the sole on the instep but I will put up with them because they wont be getting used outside.

These were my first pair of road shoes and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Out of the box I rode in them for a month, no pain while riding but slight discomfort when walking from the ratchet bolt. Did the heat molding and no more pain and the shoes fit great. For the price these shoes are very good quality and easy delivery to Canada. I would buy another pair without hesitation.

Bont Riot Buckle Shoes

Just received my shoes today and must say that at first glance these look good. Put some cleats on them and took out for a short ride, and found them to feel real nice. Time will tell, but honestly cannot believe how nice looking these are. Much better than the online photo. They are also very stiff, and out of the box, one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Based on the sizing chart I took a 45 and fits perfectly. Arrived in Canada in about 8 business days. Overall, just a great shoe especially at the sale price, and great service from PBK.

Great value, comfortable shoe

Really simple shoe, does exactly what it needs to and little else. Fitting Look cleats was easy. As other reviewers have said, they are a tad roomy, especially if you've got a narrow foot – based on the Bont sizing chart online I went for 45 (I even drew my foot on a piece of paper like they tell you to). I would have been safe with a 44 I think, but was recently spooked by a pair of 44 Pearl Izumis that were too tight for any endurance cycling. Bonus that they are thermoformable, but make sure your oven can go as low as they specify, otherwise you'll void the warranty.
