The Grand Prix 4000S II boasts global appeal as the best all round race bike tyre on the market. Not only is it fast and super grippy, thanks to its state of the art BlackChili rubber compound, but it is also tough with a healthy tread layer and of course Continental's Vectran anti puncture breaker layer underneath. So for reliability, longevity and all out performance for your race machine, the GP 4000S II is the only choice.
How are these figures possible? The carbon filler particles within the rubber compound are reduced to 1/10th of the size of standard carbon particles. This creates a closer knit with the particles having more points of contact with each other, thus forming a tighter bond, (increasing mileage performance) and also with the road (increasing grip). Also the way in which the particles interact with each other has a dramatic effect on reducing rolling resistance. Black Chili is used by several ProTour and Continental teams as shown opposite.
The all new Vectran breaker belt, developed and patented by Continental, surpasses even the famous puncture resistance of the former leader in this category, the GP3000. The extremely strong Vectran fabrics are more flexible and lighter than all other puncture protection materials. Vectran offers more resistance to cuts than Aramid, is five times as strong as steel and features less weight than a nylon double breaker. It also maintains strength in the wet.

I've used several tires over the past but have switched over to the Grand Prix 4000 for several years now. Great traction and last a long time.
Been riding Conti tires for ever, but have tried a few other options - Schwable, Vittoria (though not their newest offerings). Had the Conti GP Force/Attack combo before, too, but appreciate the wider options available on the GP4000... and everything else about them. Also love the PBK multi-buy and other discount options available, making a new pair of these a reasonable purchase.
Never have I been more confident in the performance of a tire, than in this one. I've been through a lot of them now, and I won't use anything else when it counts...I trust this tire!
Have tried many different tires, these are the best. Very few flats with these and great wearing.
I've been riding on GPSII for a few years, current set has almost 7000 km and still holding up. Always a great deal to buy from PBK, half priced and shipped promptly. Worth a try if you haven't before.
The tires are great!!! They took a little longer to get here but they are worth it. Would recommend buying anything off the website, I had a question and customer service answered it very quickly.
Great tires! Light, fast, grippy and shipping from PBK was great!
Great performing tires. Low rolling resistance and very durable.
This was a first purchase through Probikekit and I'm very pleased. Everything I ordered arrived as advertised and I'm very happy with the GP4000 tires. They offer a comfortable ride but are quite responsive and fast!
My best tires ever. Fourth buy. 2,000 miles +. Good grip, smooth and puncture résistant
These are my first replacement tyres for my Trek 7.2 (Stock are 35mm HardCase H2). They are about half the weight, and it's like rolling on a cloud. Somehow they are even more comfortable than the 35's. PBK had them on sale, with an extra 10% off for buying two. Free shipping to Canada, no taxes, and no duties. I will 100% be purchasing again from PBK.
One of the best clincher available, smooth grippy and excellent all around. I'm very happy from the change from 23mm to 25mm, really helped in the ride quality.
Great choice of product and good price too! Delivery in time!
Good rolling tire. Had no mounting issues despite some reports that it is hard to mount tire. Very grippy and compared to 23 that they have replaced are more comfortable. Actually alot more. Almost 200km so far of fair weather riding and no compalins so far. Rolled over patch of construction gravel and random rocks couple of times. No damage to the tire. Haven't noticed much decrease in rolling resistance to be honest, but the ride is more plushy and cornering is insane... sounds like tires are glued to the road when you lean the bike in. Climbing times have improved though due to lower tire weight. Kudos to PBK for delivering to Canada in less then 2 weeks.
Just bought 2 new ones although my current Continental 4000's are working/lasting just fine; may put them on for my next Olympic distance triathlon but may not as I really trust these tires and their durability. Grippy and comfortable at 105 psi.
Have ridden on 23s and now 25s for years. Most comfortable/comp[liant tire I've tried (compared to Michelin. Vittoria, Schwalbe). Good grip, cut and puncture resistance, and durability. Have recommended to many friends, who have also been pleased with them. Might seem expensive, but they do go on sale, and are good value. You can usually find a pair on sale at a very reasonable price (for a quality tire). Have only had to have one replaced (got past quality control being out of round/with a high spot) out of perhaps 16-20 purchased for myself and others. No-hassle replacement and didn't even return the tire --- just send a 20 sec. video of the mounted tire in rotation. Would give it 5/5 but want them to encourage Conti to keep improving it.
The price of this tire is extremely competitive as compared to the average price of 74-78 dollars here in Toronto. Extremely good set of well known tires for a really really good price.
Half the price then here in Canada
So far so good. I haven't ridden too much on the tyres but I'm impressed by the initial quality. Cornering is secure.
Tires were great, very pleased with them. Road a 125km that week after putting them on, and immediately felt the traction control and comfort and didn't worry at all if it started to rain.
