Well Worth It!

Since getting back into road cycling I have been trying a mix of tyres for different situations and brought a set of the Schwalbe Durano's as my winter training/racing tyre. Must say VERY happy with the purchase, had previously run Vittoria Rubino Pro's for winter/training and while there was not much wrong with them apart from picking up cuts a bit too easily I feel just that extra bit more confidence with the grip level of the Schwalbe's and the rolling resistance 'feels' excellent, so far no punctures or cuts to worry about.

Schwalbe Durano S Clincher Road Tyre

I found this tyre to be light and quick with good rolling resistance and it has a strong casing that resists punctures. I recommend these tyres.

Excellent

5

I have used these before and knew what I was getting. I ride on rough chip seal roads and roads with glass and other rubbish and these tires seem to be fine and have given me no trouble. They roll exceptionally well and I also use them for races. If your looking at a change then these are worth a serious look!

Fastest Winter Tyres

5

These are the fastest winter tyres hands down. Ive used various brands, mostly race tyres. These things allow me to train without thinking I could be getting more out of the bike. With the storms Ive seen the road and bike paths looking a lot worse this winter. Not a problem with these tyres. I usually use Italian cotton tyres or Ultremo ZX race tyres, going to a harder rubber isn't something Ive considered before. Not now, these will be on for a few months at least.

Winter speed

5

I've ridden them through some nasty gravel-strewn roads, both wet and dry, without the slightest problem. They feel comfortable and fast, without that disconnected sensation you get with thick puncture-proof tyres. So far I've only done a few hundred km on them so I don't really know how long they last. A great tyre and excellent value for the price.

Quick enough and tough enough to cut it with pricier competition

5

The fastest of Schwalbe’s tough Durano family is still impressively impenetrable and enjoyable to ride for the money. While it has less protection built in than the Durano and Durano Plus, the S still has an enviable reputation for shrugging off punctures even with extensive use on rough roads.

It is slightly stiffer and fractionally more slippery than Schwalbe’s top Evolution tyres, but the broad, lightweight carcass still rides really well compared with most competitors, with easy speed and low weight responsiveness despite the impressive puncture insurance.

Reasonable pricing is enhanced by a decent wear life, making this a top all-weather training tyre.
