Does the job well

5

It reputedly isn't as strong as using tubular cement, but ultimate adhesion isn't my goal and this tape performs admirably for daily riding. Note, this tape is for alloy rims, not carbon. I wanted something easy to use, non-fuss and non-messy, that would keep my tubes on during normal riding and cornering (non-race) conditions and would make it easier to change tires when needs dictate, and this tape definitely does the trick. One package will do two wheels with some left over for a partial third wheel. So far I have nothing to complain about.

Suitability

3

This is for Alloy rims. It is 18mm in width. Not used as I needed a carbon suitable tape. Likely to stick well, but I have not used. Have read it sticks carbon rims well, although can delaminate when removed.

Easy to Use and No Mess

Overall a good product - sticks well to carbon rims but is also easy to remove for a tub swap and keeps tub nice and secure.

easy to fit and remove

we had good experiences of using Jantex tub tape. It was easy to fit, the tyres didn't fall off, and, erm, that's about it. There's plenty of people that'll tell you that it's not as strong as cement and they may well be right, but it was plenty strong enough during testing. Once it's time to take the tub off the tape doesn't leave too much residue, so cleaning up the rim is fairly straightforward. All in all it's about the easiest way to get your tubs on. If you're a hardcore track racer you'll probably want to opt for a stronger cement, but for time trialling and general use you should be well served by Jantex. One roll does two wheels, so it's decent value too.

I use it

4

I used Jantex tape this past CX season in combination with tubular cement. Some online reports have claimed that this tape is not the same as "Belgian tap" sold by other sites, and that it will not create the same bond. I used it on 2 sets of CX tubulars all season last year and never rolled a tire so I feel comfortable using it.
